Biofeedback

Biofeedback is a training program designed to develop one’s ability to control the automatic (involuntary) nervous system using a variety of monitoring procedures and equipment. In essence, biofeedback uses one’s mind to control one’s body. Natalis’ specialists can train a client to control certain involuntary body responses, such as: brain activity, blood pressure, muscle tension, and heart rate.

Once a client learns to recognize and control these responses, biofeedback can be used to treat a wide range of mental and physical health problems and improve overall health and sense of well-being. Biofeedback has been shown to be helpful in treating approximately 150 medical conditions, including: asthma, Raynaud’s disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), hot flashes, nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy, incontinence, headaches, irregular heartbeats (cardiac arrhythmias), and high blood pressure.
